One of Australia's oldest hotels

Bushranger Jackey Jackey ,whose real name was William Westwood , was captured and locked up in the Pub in 1840.

Jackey Jackey apparently enjoyed his stay and would have rather stayed there at the Harps pleasure than at Her Majesty's pleasure in a less pleasant place

The Railway came through in 1885 to bring visitors to enjoy boating, hunting and fishing on Lake George and the so Pub changed it's name to The Lake George in 1886. Another name change saw it called "Chinnerys" early in the century.
